Data Visualization
This was a fully interactive a Data Studio report I created for Permits.com
(Due to sensitive information, after the project was completed, I anonymized the data and created a dummy dataset to demonstrate what was visualized).
Key Metrics and Overview
In this broad 30,000 feet view, the client can interact with the chart elements to get a (preliminary) deep dive into the data. Furthermore, to filter any of the top ten:
- Select a date range (currently defaults to year-to-date)
- Select any of the top ten State, Task Group of Company
Deeper Dives by Location, Task and Company
In the second dashboard, the client can get the broad strokes visually of where and when sales are the highest. The more saturated the color, the higher the revenue for that criterion.
Again, filtering allows the client to:
- Select either State, Task or Company Name
- Toggle on/off the additional options from which the client’s customers can choose (Plan review, Priority option) and which type of customer
- Use the drop down menus for more granularity, including the ability to isolate (see ONLY one criterion) or search if full names are not known.
The user can also scroll through the State, Task Name and Company Name charts (and can sort by Name, Revenue, or Number of sales)
Alternate Deep Dive
Here, the user is able to see breakdown by task and task group (I wrote a custom field generator that condensed in the original dataset of some 70 task names to under 20).
Distribution over Time
Here, the client has easy access to drill down through time to see how sales were distributed on a very fine granular scale.
Sales can be checked by year, by quarter, by month, by day of week, and even by hour, which allows them the ability to tailor their online advertisements based on whatever criteria they wish to focus on.
Do they want to target a specific market, at at specific time of year or day (or after some major event or announcement occurs)? They can do that.
